Team Mortensen

I saw this picture on Erin's blog, and I absolutely love it. I don't know if everyone is participating in the bike race or if some are just eye candy, but either way they look so darn cool. :) But no matter who is racing, I have a feeling that they're going to win!

Nellis Air Show

This weekend is the Nellis Air Force Base air show that they do every Veteran's Day weekend. Nellis is about 5 miles east of us, so although we didn't go, I watched some of the Thunderbird aerial show while doing some yardwork yesterday. They're doing it again today and the loud engines are all over outside as they fly around for today's show. We went to the show 4 years ago with our Boys Town group, so these pics are from that outing (and the old camera we had at the time). The Thunderbirds' home base is Nellis and they're home now for their last show of the year after a world tour and about 73 shows in 2009. I have always been fascinated by airplanes and helicopters, and the Thunderbirds in particular as mom and dad took me to the airshow at Hill Field several times over my younger years. Dad also got me an autographed Thunderbirds framed photo that hung in my bedroom when I was growing up.

Title

From Utah State vs. SUU.

Wild Burros outside of Las Vegas.  During Ragnar race.

A Blackhawk helicopter delivering a load in Logan Canyon.

Pumpkin carving Family Home Evening.

The moon.

My costume for a Halloween 1914 Murder Mystery Party.

Trick or Treat! Our girls had a fun night in the church parking lot loading up on candy. Princess Leia, the Wicked Witch, and the Skeleton all had plenty of treats and really like getting to wear glow-in-the-dark necklaces that Grandpa Jones bought for them. Happy Anniversary to Mom and Dad yesterday as well! What were you all for Halloween?

Carmel Apples

Last weekend when Lexie and I swung up for a few days to visit, Dad took us to Dick's market because a couple types of apples were on a good sale. I didn't realize it, but apparently the apples in Vegas are inferior in several important ways including but not limited to: size, taste, price. These apples were huge and delicious. Sarah and some friends in the ward spent Thursday night making and decorating carmel apples, and we were happy to have such a good base ingredient to start from. Thanks Dad!

Our Ragnar Fun

Steve and I ran in the Ragnar race last weekend. We looked all over for Todd and Matt, but we didn't see them at all. How did you guys do? Check out our blog for our complete Ragnar report. We need to put together a Jones team for next year - whadda ya say Todd, Nate, Sara, Katie, Nate (Katie's Nate!), Larry, Cody, Eric, Kindi, Brady, Brett, Paula, Erin, Tammy and anyone else. We've got 12 spots to fill!

Todd

If you click anywhere on this sentence, it will take you to my blog with many more pictures. Here is one new and three old ones I found...

Todd, Randy, Eve, and two of my dad's colleagues. One of them is Swedish. We took 4-wheelers up to Inspiration Point, close to Willard Peak, the highest point in Weber County. We saw a beautiful sunset and a bunch of mountain goats.

Cousins' Party 2009

The Cousins' Party was a big hit, as usual. I think that the official number of attendees was right around 100. It was a great party! The kids enjoyed the food, pinatas, trees to climb, and games to play. The adults also love the food, but visiting and just catching up with everyone is also fun. Thanks to all who make it possible - Evan, Larry, Randy, Nate, Steve, Ralpheyn, Tammy, and anyone else who helps out to get it all done.

BBQ in Park City

Welcome to the newly minted Evan and Ralpheyn Jones family blog! Hope you enjoy it. Here are some pictures of our very fun dinner in Park City on Sunday night. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the company was absolutely delightful.

Lexie Lou had such a great time - she loves playing with her cousins.

The newest adult in the Jones family - Matt's birthday was August 1st and now he's all grown up!
Candid shot of Brett - he played games with the little girls on the grass and had them all laughing.

Everyone loved the food - here are some pictures of the kids enjoying their dinner.
